We are anticipating a fundamental shift in the manufacturing of imported panels from Indonesia and Malaysia in the next 10 years.  There are literally hundreds of new mills in China - but that also means that there are hundreds of different panel compositions.  For those of you familiar with imports, you will no doubt remember when the Chinese production first premiered in the United States approximately three years ago.  Many a buyer has a story about Chinese panels.....but in today's market, it is an unfair prejudice.

 

Admittedly, the Chinese were new to the manufacturing process for plywood.  However, several larger manufacturers have made great strides in upgrading their machinery and operations.

Be careful!....although it is time for all buyers to look into Chinese production, the buyer still needs to be very CAREFUL.  The buyer needs to work with a savvy company like ourselves to make certain that they are working with a product that is well known and will deliver what is promised.
